kitchen Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 Caught a 2 man limit in front of thomas marina this morning trolling small bladed crawler harnesses at 1.5. Also caught several on a bright yellow/orange thunderstick. The fish were between 18 and 24 in. We were in 13 fow.
Grant Sadler Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 G.J. Luke; I take it you was in the slot, was you south towards sunset? Thanks
Indybleck Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 Good job Luke, gooing to try to get out there again this week.Tom
kitchen Posted May 29, 2011 Author Posted May 29, 2011 we were northwest of thomas running the edge of the slot. My buddies caught a 4 man limit out of quiniccasea yesterday off the edge of the sandbar/callahan reef. The action gets hotter the closer to the reef and the farther south you go.
WALRANGER5 Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 Good job, I feel a road trip comin on! Any word out of Linwood? Sparkplug?
cross-eyed Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 Luke, Thanks for the reports. I just may get my boat our of storage this coming week (weather is finally settling down). Oh by the way there is some jealous haters sniping you on "the other site". All of them seem concerned about the game laws they themselves never bend or break:confused:. Please keep your reports coming...Cross-eyed:
kitchen Posted May 31, 2011 Author Posted May 31, 2011 We launched out of quiniccasea yesterday along with about 200 other boats, but it was worth the wait to launch, half mile line of boats. We came in with our 3 man and a nice sun burn. Almost all the fish came on a small bladed fire tiger crawler harness, caught a few on a juinor deep diver thunderstick. We fished from 8 to 15 fow picking up fish the whole troll but the deeper u go the bigger the fish, we had 13 throwbacks yesterday.
bladerunner Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Thanks for all the great reports and info. My wife and I will be coming over this weekend and never fished the east side before so was wondering what launch is recommended, Thomas- Sunset Bay - other ??? Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks
Indybleck Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 You can launch out of Thomas unless you have a season pass. I don't know about Sunset, but Quincasee's launch isn't too bad just make sure you follow the channel markers out.
kitchen Posted June 3, 2011 Author Posted June 3, 2011 I would launch out of quiniccasea bladerunner it puts you right on top of the fish
bladerunner Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Looks like Quiniccasee it is, Thanks for the info. Hope for a decent weekend and some fish. Thanks again for all the info, I will post a report when we get back.
