couldn't agree more. Why throw it in the water when it's as simple as putting it back in your boat to throw out later?

I would not be affraid to claim that on more trips than not i take out my net not to net a fish but to collect someone else's trash.

usually its a bottle or ice bag floating! The guilty slobs are the ones that dump their trash at state land access points also!

i wish some little piggies would stop throwing theyre tangle ups in the water so i dont have to take it out of my prop when i get home:mad:

While it is frustrating to have to take line out of the prop, it shouldn't be assumed that it was intentionally place in the water.

Who's to say that it wasn't from a break off?

i thought about that too randy but the fact of the matter is there is way too much trash floating around...also there was no swivels no pieces of copper or leadcore or anything..so i AM going to assume

:no:Some people are just plain lazy, and to some it's easier to throw stuff overboard rather than carry it to a trash can. I see quite a few mylar baloons floating in the water too. It's a shame some people don't take care of our precious resources.

Not only is it a pain in the ass but it can ruin your seals on your lower unit.

Had it happen on my last boat.

Too bad you weren't running copper Russ , that would really screw up his lower unit.

this is one time i cant argue with most of you guys. it just seems like every trip i make all our little cubby holes get filled with old line. most of the time we just put it in one of our old chip bags and stick it in a cubby hole. now sometimes some of its my own. but for the most part its where it got on our rigs. i dont think its as bad on the water as it is in places like maumee.it gets horrable there. i even make the guys on my boat put there butts in pop cans.LOL. it just dont take that much effort. we always have to clean crap out of our boat every day. but then were pigs anyway. because we never throw anything out. candy papers soda cans. alot of the time we use our ice bags for trash bags. well i,ve ranted enough. and remember what it would be like if the 90% didnt clean up after the 10%.

Hopefully that guy that cut off my planer boards Sunday is still digging line out of his props!

I had that occure last fall and boat was only 5oft away! We sounded horn yelled and they just waves then fliped us off! I needed new line anyway so when they set off my drag i let my entire spool empty ,over 300 yards hopfully it all went around his prop!!!I moved over 75 yards at least but they just followed us! I lost a board and a spoon but Imshure his reair bill was at least a grand!!!

couldnt have happened to a nicer guy.LOL. i was fishing in jupiter fl a few yrs ago, this commerical boat was trolling beside me then just out of nowhere he turns right behind my boat. wipes out all 6 lines. we called him everything but a fisherman. he just shrugged his shoulders and smiled. we had wire leaders on all 6 rigs. i hope that did something to his shaft drive.

Last year while trolling out of muskegon i was watching my graph very intently looking for anything that swims and then i saw what i thought was moby dick diving for my deep rigger, and then it just hung there.....after a few minutes of that i decided to pull the rigger up and check it out and what appeared to be a 30 gallon trash bag was wraped around my rigger ball.im not sure why i was surprised but somehow that just managed to piss me off

I cannot believe some boaters are that ignorant on the water. I have delt with my share of ignorant boaters in the last couple of years. I had my first hook up with a boater last year when an idiot wanted to follow my boat not less than 50 feet behind me. A good fish hit on the dipsey and the line hit a rivet on his boat and pulled the fish off. I got my equipment back but told the driver what I thought of his selfish act in french and spanish even a little english. I tried for over a mile to shake this guy too.
