ekbelt Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 I had the idea a few years ago to stream marine radio live on the Internet and I’ve finally got it up and running this year. I am fortunate to know the owner of Parkway Inn, on the south side of Lake Mac, and he allowed me to install a radio and antenna on the roof as well as using his Internet connection to upload the live stream to the streaming server. The last week of testing has been great. It’s picking up all radio chatter on channel 68 from Grand Haven down to Saugatuck. Hopefully this will be a great fishing tool for all this year! Check it out: http://www.bigredclassic.com/radio.htm
BenLubbs Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 Very cool idea, I will have to monitor this on the days i'm thinking about going out. Thanks for posting.
Ice_man_08 Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 can you change the channel or is this only chan 68
mriversinco Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 This is great, and thanks but it sure is a surprise how little people use the radio now. When I was a kid, listening to the radio was vital to knowing where to fish, and with what.
SPOONWASHER Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 It would be awesome to have this at other ports, I like the idea a lot! Thank you very much for putting this up. Quite often at school we will have work days and such where we listen to our ipod but today I pulled this live stream up on my phone, worked great.
BenLubbs Posted June 12, 2011 Posted June 12, 2011 Erik, I like the addition of the web cam picture to the page:thumb:
