jimcr Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 Spent 5 hours out on the water today with my brother inlaw , I couldn't find the fish. I dont' like fishing in the pack so after the fog broke and I was in the middle of a dozen boats we left for less crowded water, Should have stayed in the crowd . went 1 for 2 in 5 hours. covered a lot of ground and didn't mark but a few fish. Had a visitor for a while . even landed on my hat . Ran into Russ at the launch and the fish were near the pack of boats. Have to try again .
Nailer Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 We also had one of those little guys riding with us today. Thanks for sharing Jim.
max23 Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 Yeah as soon as I put my third line down in 85fow it hooked up so I just kept circling through 90-85. My last trip out I had a bird that kept sitting on my rod tips which was funny. Boats were pretty spread out though. Gotta keep trying
Salmon Assassin Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 The pack wasn't that great a place to be.... I left the pack and went toward the filter and hit 3 fish in 15 minutes (2-3). Wanted to go back through, however mutiny on the boat and everyone wanted to go home. Not sure what you have been running but 2 color and 3 color boards are ON FIRE. Run orange dodgers with green and gold peanuts flys. Braided dipsys 37 LOC did pretty good as well, but I'd run boards over that anyday.....
KJ pluggin Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Still beats working any day Jim, I would have traded places with you in a second!
sherman51 Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 i know your probably going to think i made this up but its true. about 25 yrs ago we had one of those little fellers come on our boat. my friend had taken his shoes off. the bird went in his shoe. after it hadnt come out for awhile he checked on it. the little feller was dead. never was sure what killed him tho.better luck fishing next time.sherman
