Twill23 Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Crazy story. 31.25in 9lb 8oz walleye caught in St. Joe, had a mouth tag from Alpena. Not a ton of info on it yet, but pretty interesting.A Traveling Fish Story
Grant Sadler Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Thats cool, they have nothing better to do then swim around, LOL.Keep us posted TJ.
Twill23 Posted April 28, 2011 Author Posted April 28, 2011 Hopefully they will keep us updated when they do more looking into it. It'd be a shame if this subject went untouched by the biologists.
hfitch Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 We caught a tagged walleye in Port Sanilac a few years ago that had been tagged in the Tittabawassee River and I thought that was a long way! WOW, our fish had nothing on this fish. Hope they find out and let everyone know exactly where it was tagged at.
Adam Bomb Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Wow, thats quite a hike. Not unheard of though. A buddy caught two fish tagged in the Titt down on Erie!!!
ALLEYES Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Alpena is the reporting station for walleye tags. I have caught several with those tags from Muskegon Lake and they all were planted in the Muskegon River system.
Fishwhisperer Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Very cool! I always check my Eyes for jewelry, but no such luck.
