jimcr Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Finally made it out again, just got the boat back and the kicker runs like new again. Took the short trip with my Cousin and brother in law. ended up 7 for 7 in just under 2 hours. Four of the fish didn't set the rigger line or couldn't tell if there was anything on the rods. Nice surprises though.Fished 35-40 fow right out front. Would have stayed out longer but the wind picked up and made boat control difficult. I hope this coho bite hangs around for a while . from what I could tell they were feeding on smelt. Now I just have to catch up on the Embroidery to get more time on the water.Tight lines Jim
SUPERTRAMP Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Well done Jim u should be able to get the Ho's for a couple of more weeks anyway.
adrenalin Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Nice Jim, I'm torn between puting the boat in a slip in Racine or just fishing Milwaukee. Racines launch is so shallow right now I can't use it.
adrenalin Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Jim was that today? They were predicting 4-6 footers????
jimcr Posted April 24, 2011 Author Posted April 24, 2011 Jim was that today? They were predicting 4-6 footers???? when we came in it was getting rough,(in my boat) we were less than 1500 ft from the break wall. to the out side. If you were anywhere where it was open to the southwest it was bumpy. Just finished your jackets , have to trim them and I will be doing shirts either tomorrow or monday. Here is a shot of the Aqua Jacket.

Racines launch is so shallow right now I can't use it.if you know of some good areas that would hold coho, i would stay in Milwaukee. But if it turns out to be hit and miss you may be better off there. Weather is suppose to be good tomorrow, and we celebrated Easter at the inlaws this afternoon. So I may go out tomorrow. I will let you know how I did if I go out.
killerbe20 Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 nice fishing! hope you guys arent stealing our coho already!jackets look great jim! have to get in touch with you on doing the work i never had done.
Attabuoy Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Well done Jim. What did they find was the problem with the kicker?
jimcr Posted April 25, 2011 Author Posted April 25, 2011 they said there was some debris in the carb, like fine sand. Dont' know if I bought the motor that way or picked it up in the gas. Also said that it could have been left from when they test them at the factory. It was a brand new 08 motor . In the crate. Runs fine now.Apparently these kickers are very susceptible to dirt and bad gas because the jets in the carbs are so small.
Attabuoy Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Glad to hear that one's behind you now. Tight lines...
