fished a few hours this morning,and went 2 for 4 both browns.best action was between the bubbler,and the piers in around 12 fow.orange tiger stripe thin fin went 3 times off a board.perch rapala floater went once.no fin clips on the browns.

I caught a brown last week at South Haven with no fin clips either.

idk about browns, but I know they haven't had the money to clip steelhead the last couple of years so they probably haven't with browns as well

They planted a new and special strain last year that's supposed to save the brown trout fishing, and these are clipped. I don't know why they didn't just plant the same ones they planted the year before that, we caught 38 browns last year and all but 2 were 2-4# fish from the year before.

Oddly, some of those were fin clipped, so we're getting browns from other states over here.

The 5-10# fish we're seeing this year are the results of that 2009 plant.

Caught a walleye the other night with an 8" trout in it's belly when the fish was cleaned! I'll post pix once I get a chance.

How's the launch out of Port Sheldon? Did they dredge it so it's a little deeper than the earlier reports I read this Spring? Thanks!

How's the boat launch? I read it would not be dredged this year so it would be best to launch from Grand Haven?

launch itself was not bad.when you got out a little bit thats when it got shallow.I tried to stay in river channel,and it was 4 ft at the very deepest.I only have a 16ft,so it was not a problem.
