19th Annual TOURNAMENT RULES

RULES OF THE GAME

ENTRY FEES: Entry fees for the anglers in the Tournament are $300.00 per team for Walleye Tournament and $100.00 per team for Steelhead tournament. All fees shall be made payable to N.C.C.B.A.

ENTRY DEADLINE: All entries must be paid no later than the Captain’s meeting being held June 10th, 2011. Full refunds will be provided to any team that cancels prior to June 1st, 2011. No refunds will be given after June 1st, 2011. For more information call Capt. Roger St.Clair at (216) 581-7619, Cell (216) 276-6943. Entry Fee can be made payable to the North Coast Charter Boat Association.

DATES AND TIMES: Tournament will be Saturday, June 11th, 2011. June 12th, 2011 is set aside as a blow day and each succeeding day until the tournament is completed. Hours of the competition will be 6:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. and the days catch must be registered no later than 4:00 p.m. Four hours or more will count as a day, and will constitute completion of the tournament in the event of foul weather. Lines must are not permitted in the water any earlier than 6:30 a.m.

LOCATIONS: Tournament headquarters will be at PICKLE BILLS, Grand River (In the back). Tournament fishing is restricted to Lake Erie water within the Ohio borders.

CHECK-IN STATION: PICKLE BILLS, Grand River. (In the back)

TEAM SIZE: There will be no team size qualifications, but limited to eight (8) rods per boat.

ROD AND LINE RESTRICTION: Each participant must have in his possession a valid Ohio Fishing License. Ohio Fishing Regulations state no more than two rods per person. All Ohio Fishing Regulations must be followed. (Maximum 8 rods per boat).

RADIO USE AND RESTRICTIONS: All participating boats must be equipped with an operating VHF Radio. Radio silence will be in effect throughout the Tournament. All boats must monitor channel 16. Tournament control will operate on channel 16. All boats will be directed to channel 88 for communication. Scanner use is prohibited. All boats are required to remain on channel 16 until directed by the tournament committee to channel 88. Radio use other than emergency or as directed by the tournament committee will result is disqualification. The use of Radio Direction Finding equipment is prohibited. Note: the purpose of this rule is to ban communication between boats during tournament hours. Any form of communication, i.e. CB radio, cell phones, sign boards, hand signals, etc. are in violation of the intent of this rule, and will be cause for disqualification.

START: Fishing will not start until 6:30 a.m. June 11th, 2011.

CHECK IN: All fishing must cease at or before 2:30 p.m. All boats must be checked in at the station no later than 4:00 p.m. Failure to do so will result in a 10-point penalty for each minute of tardiness. At least one team member must remain with the catch until surrendered to the tournament committee. Any fish brought in station after 4:15 p.m. will not be accepted.

SCORING: We will check in six fish total. They will be scored on weight only. 1 point per pound 1/16 point per ounce. Total weight will determine winners. Culling of fish will not be permitted. Any fish kept may not be returned to the water. All fish released must be done so immediately. All winners must be willing to submit to a Polygraph examination. All fish weighed in must remain in the specified area until completion of weigh in. (The care and security of all fish is the responsibility of the team (Captain). All fish remain the property of the contestants. Fish must be brought to the check in stations in coolers clearly marked with team ID.

DRINKING: The committee does not condone the consumption of alcohol on the water, however this subject is left to the discretion of the team Captains and the laws apply to this issue. Drunkenness in the official areas of the tournament will result in the offenders and his/her team’s disqualification.

PROTESTS: All protests must be done in writing within fifteen (15) minutes of the completion of the weigh in. Any protest must be tendered with a fee equal to that charged for a polygraph examination. Said protest and fee shall be handed directly to Tournament Director. Any protest will be settled by the tournament committee or by the polygraph test. If testing is necessary, the protest fee is forfeited if not substantiated.

RULING AND LITIGATIONS: The tournament committee reserves the right to add new rules and/or regulations to cover any circumstances not covered in these rules and the committee decision is final as to interpretation of said rules. In the interest of good sportsmanship, contestants are reminded the "spirit of the rule" will prevail in all decisions.

WAIVER: By signing the entry form I release the NORTH COAST CHARTER BOAT ASSN., and all participating sponsors of this tournament from any loss of property, bodily injury or loss of life that may occur during this tournament. I understand that selected contestants must take and pass a polygraph test to qualify for the receipt of any prize to verify compliance with all tournament rules. All team members must read these rules and sign the entry form.

CAPTAIN'S MEETING: A meeting to go over the Tournament rules will be held at PICKLE BILLS in Grand River at 7:00 p.m. June 10th, 2011. The Captain or a team member must be present.
