Killin' It Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 I know I started this thread a while ago, but for the life of me I can not find it. I will ask the question again.Port sideRigger Diver300 ft of 32# BR Super copper = 60 feet downFull core 27# Lead core = 40-50 downStarbord sideRiggerDiver350 ft of 32# BR Super Copper = 70 feet downFull core 27# Lead core = 40-50 down5 color 27# Lead core 20 down (If I am motivated)Last year made me a beliver in flashers and flies, and I want to work in 1 more at times Can I get away with running them on my copper without the spinnies/flashers taking out the full core?Dave
tgafish Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Yes on your 350.Your 300 is iffy with currents and turns.Remember sometimes there is too much of a good thing;)
Just Hook'n Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 I've personally been on boats that run spinnies on 300 copper, next to full core with spinnies and flies, next to 5 color with spinnies and flies. However, I will say that my a$$ was puckered the entire time. I thought we were in for a mess of trouble, but he made it work.
Nailer Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Keep in mind, your copper or core will not run as deep with a flasher/fly.Or, to gain depth, add a Ace Hi plug.
KJ pluggin Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 As long as you pay attention when setting lines and don't take to tight of turns you should be alright. You could also throw a dive bomb on those inside boards to give them a bit more separation if your worried about it.
Treblemaker Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Best bet is to run all flasher flies and then work on trolling angle and speed. When one starts going they will all start going.
