Grant Sadler Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Well here we go again , I just recevied my COHO flies from Matt, they look good, now how long do ya make the leads from the dogger to the flie? Thanks you guys there is not a lot of Coho in L.H. but I want the pres. to look right:thumb:
SUPERTRAMP Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 u dont need a long lead for coho, about 3x the length of your flasher, ie 4" flasher use a 12 to 16" lead. Just be sure to use red or orange flashers and early u dont need to go very deep, 5 to 8' . The 000 4" luhr jensen dodger in coho red on an SWR rig on a yellow bird is killer for early coho. I like the siggs coho candy gold christmas or silver christmas and the peanut fly in copper and red silver is killer too.
1 old guy Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 What He Said. Yep. Cheddar fly in Blue and copper.
Line Dancin Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 3 times the length of the dodger is the best rule.
eastcoasttransplant Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Bingo. Overall 3 times the dodger or flasher length is a good starting point.
