Grant Sadler Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 I was just woundering what you guys run in front of Coho flies, when trolling in the spring water? I don't want to sound dumm but want to learn, They are a fun fish to catch and I have only caught them by accident
SUPERTRAMP Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Try a 000 Dodger in red or a 000 Dodger in red, that is standard Coho fare in the spring and it works.
j1musser Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Like Mike said, any small size orange or red flasher. Luhr Jensen, Spin Doctor, or I wanna say a Z flasher. Those on a 1 or 2 color have been good for me in the past.
1 old guy Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 000 red or 000 orange dodgers. Best coho fly for me is the cheddar fly in blue and copper color
weedsnager Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 (edited) I use a stinger sidekick Edited March 20, 2011 by Nailer imbeded image
j1musser Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 i use a stinger sidekickhttp://mistinger.com/sidekick.htmJeff, How big are the sidekicks?
Paulywood Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 I use these flashers, but I am by no means an expert:http://lakemichiganangler.com/store/Action_Flasher.htm

This set up on a 2 color core was hot for me last year in St. Joseph. I have not run the 4" Orange Crush, but it looks good also.
anonymous Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 The small red, orange and yellow Spin Doctors have done well for me along with the dodgers mentioned above.
weedsnager Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Jeff, How big are the sidekicks?they are about the same size as a luhr jensen O, i use a rapture coho with them....a different look from everybody and their cousin who is out there with standard peanut fly
killerbe20 Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 action flashers in both sizes, red and orange. dont be afraid to use the larger size flashers with the smaller coho flies either. you would be surprised how well a peanut or 2'' fly behind a big flasher works.
killerbe20 Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 here's a picture from last year of a coho on a large red Action Flasher http://www.greatlakesfisherman.com/gallery/files/1/7/5/0/coho_and_flasher.jpg' alt='coho_and_flasher.jpg'>
adrenalin Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Here are my 3 coho setups. I put the spin doctors on the divers and 00's on one side boards and b&b's on the other sides boards. What ever works best that day gets put on all my boards. I don't get any more creative than these 3 setups because they are proven for me so if the cohos are their it shouldn't take to long to limit out. Josh can attest to this, if the fish are their you should get them pretty easy.
