sslopok Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 I did some side work for a coworker and got a bunch of stuff in return. One of the things I got was a lockable fiberglass dock box. It is about 5 feet long, 2 1/2 feet tall, and 2 1/2 feet deep. Looks like it is in great shape. It is white and should clean up nice. Just wondering what it would be worth if I sold it? Was thinking about using it for our place on houghton lake, but think it is too big for our dock. Thanks!
MY2SONS Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 I just bought one. Brand new they're around $500.00 for that size.
sslopok Posted March 6, 2011 Author Posted March 6, 2011 I was thinking of selling it for $100. That would be a win win for me and buyer
Paulywood Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 If it's worth $500 new than asking $250 wouldn't be out of line. Maybe look up the particular box you have and then when you want to put it up for sale you can attach the info for a new one. Generally used gear goes for half the new price, give or take.
MY2SONS Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 I bet if ou put it on Craigslist for $250.00 it would go fast! Especially if it's in good condition. Good used dock boxes are hard to find. I know I've been looking for one for some time. Couldn't find one so I bought new $$$$. The one I bought was a 6 footer though. The 5 footer was $500.00.
sslopok Posted March 6, 2011 Author Posted March 6, 2011 Sounds good to me:). I will list it on craigslist over on the west side and see what happens.
sslopok Posted March 7, 2011 Author Posted March 7, 2011 Well that didn't take long. I ended up putting it on the Flint Craigslist and sold it to a guy who has a slip in Augre. Made him a deal he couldn't refuse.
