Rascal Trophy Fishing Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Being more specific, I learned I am referring to the Lansky deluxe or regular quick edge models, they do have a very big assortment of sharpeners I was not aware of till today. Thanks Nailer.
Line Dancin Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 I dont like the quick edge type sharpeners. the carbide can really destroy a blard in a hurry if the metal has any kind of soft spot. It will gouge that area out in a hurry. also carbide kind of jumps as it is cutting and makes a uneven edge. I had a sharpener that i made when i worked at a carbide and ceramic cutting insert shop after high school. I mad it with ceramic cutting inserts and that thing was great only problem is ceramic chip when you have a sharp edge so it only last a few years and i was living down here when it was worn out.
