Where to go Lake Ontario

Hello,

I have never fished Lake Ontario. If I were to take a trip from SW Michigan, which port or city would be the closest and most productive?

Western end of lake Ontario - Niagara Bar, Wilson Harbor, Olcott Harbor and Oak Orchard. In the spring we fish mostly Niarara Bar to Wilson. If you come here you'll get hooked.

For a 1st timer, definitely go to the west end. Unless you're going in the fall, then hit the east end.

It may depend on when you wish to go. The Salmon move around. In the spring the warmer waters coming out of the river in the Niagara bar area will be the place to be.
