Rascal Trophy Fishing Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 We had a big wind turbine farm proposed last summer in Ludington, to be out in Lake Michigan, with about 200 units constructed, right in front of our pierheads and south to Pentwater. Everyone in our region objected strongly to this intrusion and ruination project in our precious Lake. An eyesore and NOT what the developers bragged up at all. Most ALL of the engineering, manufacturing, and installation was to go to overseas contractors and jobs related also would be farmed out. All to be paid with US taxpayer monies too. If anyone cares to investigate closely, you will find these wind turbines are NOT nearly as energy efficient as advertised, and the cost in noise and air tragedies to waterfowl is certainly NOT worth the effort.
jimcr Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 You said it all, and to boot these wind mills wouldn't even pay for them selfs before the would need to be rebuilt .Hope it ends up just like the High speed Rail they tried to push on us that we don't need here.
Nailer Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Now come on guys. They could use the power from the windmills to run the Hi Speed Rail Trains. Of coarse when the wind wasn't blowing, the passengers would have to push.
