I am unfamiliar with this and was curious, if you can connect the probe to the ball to get accurate readings at the depth the ball is set?

Fish hawk and Depth raider both are coming out with a clip on unit that will read the temp at 5ft depths. it can be clipped on downriggers or dipsys even lead core to see what the temp is. It won't tell you speed just temp at depth.

Or put on a Fish hawk or depth raider and it will tell you temp and speed at the ball.
