Pioneer Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Very simple, if you haven't tried it please do. Take a salmon fillet; skin, take off dark fat layer and pin bones. Cut in pieces from top of back to belly 3/8 inch thick and soak in 7-UP for an hour in frig. Pat dry and cover in egg wash and ground saltine crackers. Deep fry until golden brown. Enjoy. Chris
Priority1 Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Chris, Thanks for the recipe. I'll give it a try in about a week. I just fried walleye for dinner last night. The next fish dinner will be the 7up Salmon. I may even try 7up walleye in a couple of weeks if I like the salmon.
steeliebob Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Thanks I will give it a try I have some fresh steelhead that will do the trick.
Priority1 Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 I tried this recipe last night with a slight variation. I used Italian bread crumbs instead of cracker crumbs. I pan fried it. The salmon flavor was very mild and most people will like it. I warmed up the last couple of pieces for breakfast today. It was still VG. Thanks for posting this recipe.
