That or I look at L Huron in front of my office wishing that I was out there in my boat.
Just Hook'n Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Robert, I'm the same way. Always cruising craigs, boat trader, yachtworld, etc. Looking at boats, thinking about a better setup, etc. Unfortunately I am not that close to the lake and have to rely on web cams for my views.

From the house to the boat launch 1 mile. From work until the downriggers are set about 40 minutes depending how long I have to wait for fishing partners. I go out at 3 am alot and nobody gets out of bed at that time so I am fishing in about 30 minutes.
Boltman Posted November 24, 2010 Author Posted November 24, 2010 ok At 3 am I'm still keeping warm in my bed with the Wife, ain't no stinkie fish gunna get me out of bed at 3 am... Turfwrench Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Come on now Robert, you are burning daylight. I will have to say that getting up early has been in my blood since I went in the service in the late 70's. Even though I retired from the service 15 years ago I still get up around 3 or 4am. Especially great for my fishing as I am a little over an hour away from where I fish, either Saginaw bay or Pt. Sanilac.

Priority1 Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 My boat is in my garage. I look at her every day. I climb aboard most every day and do a few things.

Just Hook'n Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 3 am sounds about right. There were several trips last year that ended at midnight cleaning fish, sleep on boat, can't sleep thinking about fishing, wake up at 3, go fishing. I think I have a sickness.
MY2SONS Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 There's nothing like being on the water that early in the morning. Pitch black with only the low groan of downrigger lines buzzing, water lapping up against the side of the boat, good friends, and screaming drags! The hardest thing for me at that time of the morning is seeing through my windshield on my way through lake Macatawa without hitting any bouys.
