Grant Sadler Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 This is a good time to save your tuna fish oil A qt. or pint is enough for a year depends if your wife will let you keep it in the frig. Here's what I do and it works, I take a old j-plug that I don't use, or don't catch fish I'am sure we all have them and cut about 3/8" off the tail end, or as you may remember the one's that had a screw in tip that you took out and put light stick in, works too. I use that hole to put tuna oil in it No more then 1/2 full, put small piece of cotton in the end works as a wick when pulled through the water, then I take the hook set off the plug and replace with a 12" pike leader and put setup behind my cannon ball as my deepest rig in the spead, as scent will go up in the water. I then use a stacker type release about 12"-24" above the ball hook your line in and get ready, works great on slow fish, Also get an old mustard bottle, works good to keep oil in and put oil in j-plug.
