Boltman Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Well I did it, I bought the Airmar B64 20 degree element, and with that you need to cut a 3 3/4" hole in the bottom of the boat, I'm hear to tell you it went well, cutting into the hull was a little un nerving..but with a hole saw it wass made easy... and it fit in with a little filing on the edges,Sealed it in with 3M 5200 sealant/Adhesive and now I have to wait until spring to see if it leaks.....but with that adhesive/sealant.... I don't think there will be any leaks, I'm not really worried.., now to install the sounder, I'm having trouble locating a good spot to put it in, Raymarine doesn't want it in the engine compartment....So... I' crawl around and find a perfect site for the sounding box.....Hope I don't get stuck..:thumb:
Just Hook'n Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 I think I would pass out if I saw someone drilling a 4" hole in my boat. WOW. You must have brass (*&&(.
Priority1 Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 If Robert sells bolts he has to have nuts also. A 4 inch hole is no biggie considering the hole cut in the transom for the outdrive. Just make certain it's sealed real good inside and out.
