jimcr Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Hey guys and Gals , lets see the biggest fish you caught this year. Mine was a 18#? King if I remember correctly.
Daybreak Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 This guy was the biggest of the year at just under 34lbs. Caught the first week of August at The Rock. This guy was second biggest of the year at 32lbs and was caught in May, also at The Rock.
tbromund Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Lake Ontario, Just under 31 lbs, July 11 out of Olcott, NY. 100 fow down 80 on a green nuclear SD and A-Tom-Mik Pro Am fly Tim
KJ pluggin Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Our biggest fish this year was 18.5 caught on June 20 out of Sturgeon Bay on our first trip of the year. This fish was caught by my wife on a 300 copper with a Mongolian beef spoon. We actually had two fish over 18 that trip, and the only two for us all season. Jim I feel we are at a bit of a disadvantage compared to those Stannard Rock hogs and Lake O kings. LOL Those are some awesome fish guys!
Daybreak Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Kyle,You got a hell of a wife if she is reeling in your 300' of Copper with a big King hooked up! Thats awsome!
jimcr Posted October 18, 2010 Author Posted October 18, 2010 I don't think that we are at a disadvantage here in Milwaukee, I'm not a big fan of lake trout anyway. Kings and Coho are a different story. Having Kings , Coho, Browns, and Rainbows, this is my first year, and all I can say is WOW!!. You can start in the spring for browns ,and as it warms up the Coho and Kings show up. When the four year olds are staging you can go out deep for 3 year olds and Rainbows. I am so impressed with the fisheries of the great lakes, I my never fish inland again. Also those are some impressive fish. Nice Job guys.
flyman013 Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 We only boated 6 fish this year, but here is one my 11 year old neice reeled in. About twelve pounds. Not sure who was more excited, me or her.
jimcr Posted October 19, 2010 Author Posted October 19, 2010 Thats Awesome , Does she go with you a lot? Get em hooked young.
flyman013 Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Thats Awesome , Does she go with you a lot? Get em hooked young. We don't get to see her as much as we would like, but she is hooked! That was her biggest fish ever. Hopefully next year, we can take her out more often.
Daybreak Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 The Lakers are bigger, but the fish I am most proud of is this 17+lb. King. My wifes biggest to date! We fished together for 2 days, mornig and night, and she never complained once. St. Martin Island in the background. We are in 160 feet of water where this pic is taken! Cool place to fish on the North end of Lake Michigan! Gotta love it!
KJ pluggin Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 That's awesome John! I am still working on getting my wife to like mornings out on the lake. For some reason she thinks 3:00 is to early to get up. That area looks a lot like Gills Rock in Door County.
Ashman Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Not nearly as impressive as the others, but this is my biggest walleye this year. Taken on Trout Lake in Northern Minnesota.... 25" I decided to get this one mounted if for no other reason than it will be a reminder of a wonderful vacation I shared with my wife.
Always Gone Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Two 25 pound lakers from Isle Royale and Big Reef, a fat and a lean. One was actually 25 pounds 1 oz, for bragging rights. The guy on the bottom is 40 pounds lighter. The camera takes better pictures when he is holding fish.
adrenalin Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 This is the biggest coho of the year at about 10 pounds. Our biggest king was about 17 pounds, the worst year for big fish since I started fishing.
killerbe20 Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Our biggest king was about 17 pounds, the worst year for big fish since I started fishing.i hear ya! must have been our area! i didn't have any over twenty pounds that i can think of either
Treblemaker Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Here's a couple 20+ from 2010. 10+ walleye And a real nice laker. 2010 was very good to me!
Eyefull Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Caught a few large kings this year, but this fish was the seasons highlight. Right at 10#'s after being in cooler for whole day. Whats better than catching a fish like this, catching several in the same day. Fished with CJ Baker(Puddlejumper Charters) down in Lake Erie this October. We caught six just like that fish in one day along with a box full of 6-8 pounders!! A few fish went on the wall that day. this fish came on a Silver Streak UV spoon behind a slide diver
scgibby11 Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 This was one of my favorites. Fourteen pounds, caught by my 11 year old on mono off a rigger 1/2 way between Mackinac Island and St. Ignace after a terrible night of storm and wind and fog as the weather broke. He reeled and reeled. What fun!
