Well, it's time to replace the fuel lines in the boat. Was wondering is there a difference between automotive fuel lines and marine fuel lines?

Yes there is a big difference. The marine ones are more flame resistant. They also have a USCG bug on them. It's one of the things the CG looks at during an inspection.:)

We should remind people with older boats that buying old stock fuel pumps and fuel line may not hold up to this new curosive fuel with ethenol , also some carb kits . Check with people that Know .Lemon Chill MBK.

Very good point. This was kicked around a few times but needs addressing again. Old fuel lines can look OK on the outside but are not compatible with alcohol. They deteriorate from the inside out. As mentioned above the same goes with some carb and fuel pump parts.

Thanks guys. The whole ethanol thing is the reason why I am replacing all the fuel lines (fuel pump too) before they go bad. I realized that all lines are original and probably, like was said, degraded on the inside. Will new fuel hoses (less than a year old) be resistant to the corrosive fuels?
