Avian botulism resurfaces

After two years of relative quiet, avian botulism has again resurfaced in Northern Michigan. Results from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Environment tests confirm that botulism E is killing migratory waterfowl and as a result, the birds are washing up on area beaches.
