Adam Bomb Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 Well, headed over to Ludington this morning to get the boat. Plan was if it was nice fish, if not, head right back home. Dad wanted to leave later, so we took off around 4:50:rolleyes: which got us to the boat around 7:30. Lake was beautiful so we headed out. Ran out to the 37 line and went on a north troll. Zigged zagged in and out and not much for fish on the graph, but what we did mark was parked between 90-100' down. Put lots of stuff in that range as well as experimenting with anything from 3-10 color and 150-300 copper, wires from 100-250, speed all over, nothing doing anywhere. Had one little shaker on a rigger 100' down, but lost it about half way in. That came on a Fishlander UG Green Froggy 50' off the ball....Wind started to pick up and the waves began to build so we decided to get outta dodge. Dont know if it got real ugly or not...didnt care to find out. There were a few other boats out as well and i never seen anyone turn around or a net fly. Just long passes until they were outta sight. Looked like they were in hunt mode too. Talked to the creel guy and only one fish had been brought in, so i dont feel all that bad. He said the past few days have been good when the guys got out....Awe well, thats fishin.Time to hunt!

Priority1 Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 It's always sad when boys have to pick up their toys.
GLF Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 At least you got out. I have been trying to figure out when I am going pull my boat out for the season.
Paulywood Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 I'm giving up too. I have been hoping to get out but have been putting in a lot of hours at work to make up for missing half the year. School starts the 11th so I won't be getting out after that anyway. Hope to get out a lot more next year.

Adam Bomb Posted September 30, 2010 Author Posted September 30, 2010 Ah, dont sting too bad Matt. You gotta be on em to catch em. At no point today did i feel i was onto anything good. No bait, very few fish...Thats fishing. He probably had some good water down there and all the elements that make for a good trip. Thats fishin'. Still good to get out on the big lake.Be careful out there boys. That water is mighty cold. Had to take my shoes and socks off to get the boat on the trailer and sheeeewww was it chilly! Couldnt imagine having my whole body submerged in that. You surely wouldnt last long.
JWheeler Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 Put another year in the books. Myself, just like you, wished I could have spent more time on the water this summer. But the weather just wasn't condusive of allowing us out. Looking forward to some hardwater, a little more bird hunting and some foot ball! Hopefully next summer is a better chapter in the book
DIRTY DOG Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 As stated before, I gave up hunting 2 season ago now , so the dog will be swimming till it starts freezeing every nite. Nice effort Adam and I feel your pain, the weather has sucked this year on this side of the state.
spoonfed Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Im leaving the boat in the water until Nov 1. Hoping the water cools down for some hot steelie action!
