GLF
Charter fishing operator Jim Barta says it happens every time he conducts a seminar: Somebody asks whether fish caught in Michigan waters are safe."They'll say, 'You don't really eat those fish, do you?'" Barta says.He does eat them -- perch, bluegill, bass, pike. Two or three times a week during the spring walleye run; once or twice weekly the rest of the year. From the same waters that provide the fish served in many Michigan restaurants, he says."The fish are fine to eat as long as they're cleaned and prepared properly," says the 57-year-old Lincoln Park resident, who takes customers fishing on the Detroit River and Lake Erie.http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060806/METRO/608060325
