Eam0885 Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Thanks to the poor sportsman that stole my spare tire last night, people like you are the ones that give sportsman a bad rap..if you needed a spare tire that bad you could have asked and i would have helped you out.
Adam Bomb Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Sorry to hear that. Had that happen to a friend years ago so we always run a lock on ours. Whatta shame the measures we have to take to protect our own property. Really is sad.
mattmishler Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Wow that sucks thats kinda the norm this year i have heard of 3 or 4 boats getting rods and reels stolen off there boat at the marinas. I guess we go into lock down mode.
Boltman Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Eric, Sorry to hear about that,do you need a new one now, If I find the bastard I'll get it back for you , I'm in Ludington tonight and taking her out tomorrow for the season,... Not a good season.
Eam0885 Posted September 12, 2010 Author Posted September 12, 2010 Fortunetly, we made it back home without needing a spare...it just bothers me to realize that individuals can not leave things alone that do not belong to them. Sportsman should not have to worry about locking their belongings up in fear of someone stealing it. But I guess there are allways those few individuals that cause us to have to lock everything up. Lesson learned and everything will be locked up in the future.
sjk984 Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Sorry to here that. Atleast you could get your boat back on the trailer. Where I fish in the spring someone stole my buddies bunks and left the tire. Steve

I guess we go into lock down mode.It surprises me that a lot of people leave their rods in the holders on the back of their boats. They're so bloody expensive I can't see leaving them out there overnight. I came into south haven at about 2am a few weeks ago and couldn't believe how many rods I saw.
Priority1 Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Eric, A warm welcome to the GLF site. It's a shame that some SOB would steal your spare tire. I have a unlocked one on my trailer.
steeliebob Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 I guess you have to lock it up or guard it with a Smith & Wesson. If you are fishing in St Ignace send me a pm. The salmon are about done up here but the steelhead action is just beginning. Loads fo salmon are in Moran Bay right now
Rascal Trophy Fishing Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Eam0885, this is a very seldom occurrence, in all defense of Ludington. Just some Kids that must have more time on their hands, than guardianship from adults. So sorry, do lock up ALL your stuff in the future, tis the times we're in I do suppose, and the lack of civility that is crossing the nation right now. Report this to Chief Barnett, so if the property shows up in the future, it will be returned intact.
