GLF Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 This is not what I am seeing on NOAA. Where are you getting your forecast from? I would like another link to compare forecasts.
killerbe20 Posted September 1, 2010 Author Posted September 1, 2010 that was from noaa as well. it is the open water forecast, the near shore wasn't as bad.http://www.crh.noaa.gov/product.php?site=lot&product=glf&issuedby=lmhttp://www.crh.noaa.gov/grr/marine/how are you accessing noaa? i also like comparing different forecasts. its amazing how different they can be sometimes.
spoonfed Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Sounds like what we had in Frankfort all weekend! Had to run 9 miles in 6-8 coming back on Sat. Gotta love mother nature!

Hey Josh try these links http://www.crh.noaa.gov/greatlakes/?c=map&l=gl&p=a&m=wh The second one has a map that you can click on where you will be and gives you the forecast for that area.http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=43.052833917627936&lon=-87.80960083007812&site=lot&smap=1&unit=0&lg=en&FcstType=marineI have a few more but these seem to be about the best.Tight Lines Jim

JWheeler Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Sure would be nice if the forecast was dead wrong....unlikely. Supposed to fish Saturday. May launch north one port and roll south to the dock if it is "managable"...
its an addiction Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Yah, stupid wind. Ruined my plans for the long weekend in my 16' boat. I guess it will be the inland lakes this weekend.
steeliebob Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 I guess you have to look at the posative side of all of this **** weather. That is there will be a few more fish hitting the gravel beds this year and with all of the rain they will have a chance to spawn out before the river fishermen can get a good shot at them. Hopefully more fish in a couple of years. I was planning on hitting some river mouths this week for steelhead but not with the 3" of rain that we got yesterday
