Nailer Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 Look Out Fishssss, got my siggs riggs today:thumb: hope these riggs hook some nice fish;) Did you get the Mountain Dew? I've been using a 25-26" lead on my fly, with great results.
spoonfed Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 make your leads longer, like 42" and have even better results
killerbe20 Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 fly leads are like women, everyone has there own favorites!lead length really comes down to trolling speed. USUALLY, the faster the speed, the longer the lead.
spoonfed Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 how long do you usually run Josh? ours are all around 40 or so.
Nailer Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 I should clarify that my 26" leads are behind the 8"spinney. I do like the 36-40 leads behind my 11" paddles.
killerbe20 Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 i can't tell you an exact length. I usually try to stick with a three times the attractor rule. Once i have something working i duplicate it. If i have to replace a leader i find a way to match it exactly. Recently it is the width of by bait table! I will have to measure it tomorrow and let you know. this is based on my down speed of usually around 2.7mph on my depth raider.
spoonfed Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 thats about the speed we run, ours are as long as the berts track on the boat.
