8/1 Straits Area

Well I finally got out and didn't get skunked. Went 1 for 6. It was the first salmon I ever had to release. I tried using the tried and true methods perfected by BC2 but the little guy hung on. Just kidding. The good news I was able to release him with out handling and he came in quickly from shallow so hopefully he gets bigger. Caught him on downrigger orange angel spoon 30' in 100 fow off Grand hotel.

I'm headed up that way on Aug 13th. We have always done well on the east side of the island.

There is a tournament this Sat.Aug. 21 it only costs $25 to enter. Just be at the St. Ignace boat launch before the 6:00am start to sign up. It is for the March of Dimes. The prizes will be awarded by a raffle at the end of the tournament. Each boat gets a ticket when they pay and every legal fish gets a ticket.There is over $500 in prizes.
