So I was wondering, when running a dipsey you want it to be as close got the water as possible in the holder. My question is, will it cause a problem in waves if the rod tip hits the water will it be a problem. I'm always hesitant to run them when it's bumpy.

I ran 4 last sunday in some VERY rough seas and have always in the past as well without any issues. I keep my low diver horizontal and with my custom rod holders keep the high diver just above it so it doesnt get into the low if a fish hits. The tip on the low does occassionally dip in the water. So far so good, no problems.

Well that makes me feel a little bit better. We fish outta an 18 footer so if there are any waves over two foot there's a good chance they will hit the water
