Beast515 Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 The old saying "I bit off more than I can chew". I spent alot of money buying gear for Salmon fishing. I live in the Oconto area. I looking for someone to help me learn the ropes. I'm retired and have to much time on my hands. Would love to work on a Charter Boat to learn....
DarkBlue Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Come on over to Manistee and I'll be glad to take you out.Chris
Nailer Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Marcel, Welcome to the site. There are a few Wisconsin guys that mey be able to help you.
1mainiac Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 easiest way to learn is get someone to fish with you and your gear then you can work on what will work for your setup. You could come fish on my boat or others for that matter and see how we do it but what will help you the most is someone who knows where you fish and can figure out what will work best based on what you currently have. All of us have our goto setups and even though they are pretty much all about the same they all have some differences as well. Many of the patterns are made by every lure company with name changes and variations in color and such. And the bottom line is any or all of them can work. The flip side is there will be days when nothing you do will work that is up to the fish.
killerbe20 Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 let me know if you ever make down south (racine area). i would love to help you out if i could. There are a few other guys on here that are more in your area. Hopefully they will chime in.
sjk984 Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Welcome There are some great guys here. They have helped me out a ton and answered every question I have had.Steve
BlueCollarOutdoors Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Let us know what kind of gear you have and maybe we can help you out a bit. We run out of kewaunee all the time, which is probably your closest port, maybe we can get you going in the right direction.
jimcr Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Marcel, welcome I was in the same boat so to speak at the beginning of the season(Ice out) With a lot of questions and answers from the nice people here I have learned a tremendous amount. I love the peace that I get fishing out on the big pond. And the fishing is awesome. I am from the Milwaukee area but if your in the neighborhood let me know I 'll show you what I have learned. Would you be fishing out of Marinette? My father is not to far from there . If I'm giong up that way I 'll give you a shout.Tight Lines Jim
