fishful thinking Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 can you run a larger size dipsey without the rubber snubber? what exactly is its purpose anyways?
mattmishler Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 I do not run a snubber at all i have mono, braid and wire diver. I keep the drags reallly lose and i dont have a problem with them at all. The snubber is to put some strech in the no strech line.
spoonfed Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 we took the snubbers off two weeks ago because the fish we were pulling were out of temp and lite biting. we do run them in the fall when the bigger fish come in
mayvillemark Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 For walleye dont I dont use em. For Salmon I always do when a big fish hits it it just help take up some of the shock I have tried them on both sides of the dipsy I think behind is the best.
Priority1 Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Never put a snubber on the rod side of a Dipsy. If a snubber is used on the rod side you will play hell trying to trip it.
mayvillemark Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Yeah found that out the hard way about ten years ago I know a guy that swore by running them that way well I triedit had to end up pulling my riggers and putting the boat in neutral to get it in.
