mattmishler Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 I love them. You will wonder y u ever use a flash light again.
pbrktrt Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 They work well but we've found a Streamlight LED with the UV function really lights them up fast and they glow a lot longer.
Just Hook'n Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 REALLY?I have the uv light and I think the led works better than the uv option. I've tested my moonshines in front of halogens, uv, leds, etc and the uv doesn't seem to make them glow better.I could be doing it wrong though. (we used to call this "your holding your mouth wrong"). HA.Any other opinions, I would be happy to hear what you guys think on this topic. I'm a a sucker.I have mag lights, uv, led, camera flash, halogens to light the back of the boat, I even bought that new berkley thing thinking it would do good at charging both sides of the lures at the same time. Doesn't work all that well.
WoLFMaN Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 I'm a a sucker...I even bought that new berkley thing thinking it would do good at charging both sides of the lures at the same time. Doesn't work all that well.Same here. Don't waste your money on the new berkley version of a lure charger. I found that if its a double sided glow spoon, the side that is resting on the lights (the bottom) will only be charged with little spots where the spoon sat on the tiny LED's.
hourlate Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 I have found UV light to shine the lures more quickly and have a longer lasting glow than any other method I have used in the past. Ace hardware has small UV lights for $10 (you may have to order them at the store as they have rarely been in stock when I went to buy a couple). Just a quick couple of passes from the UV light on a glow lure and you are done. No holding them on the light or waiting for the flash to recharge.
ALLEYES Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 I like my UV light that I got off Little Atom's website a couple years ago. Charges my Moonshines right up fast.
heavymetal Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 I`ve been using my camera-style/flash unit for years.Last night I was on-board a friends boat, and he had a new thingy for sparking up his stuff...I think it was made buy rapala,or berkley not positive on that.Anyway it looked like a costa-delmar sunglass case...Worked awesome,Sun setting , moon rising,One small king for our efforts.East Grand Traverse bay.Marked tons of fish, all depths.A couple more weeks it should be smok`n..See ya out there.
