Killin' It Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 I picked up a couple extra rod holders and am thinking of adding some divers to the boat. Since I HATE wire divers, I was thinking of running one braid diver with a Dipsy and trying a diver from http://www.torpedodivers.com/ on the other side.Has anyone run the directional divers they make. I picked one up but have not had it out yet. Any feedback?
Nailer Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Dave I have used them and they work. Although we where targeting fish 30-40' down.If you don't like wire than use a second braid. Braid will go deep. This year the fish are deep. I think your better off with a Mag diver than a torpedo.
anthonyyost Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Why don't you like the wire? It is my favorite rig to catch fish on.
Polar Bear Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Why don't you like the wire? It is my favorite rig to catch fish on.yea what he said ....why no likie wire ????you can feel the fish think "what the heck just happened":D:D:D
Killin' It Posted July 26, 2010 Author Posted July 26, 2010 My big problem with wire is that I will be having alot of people on the boat that are new to the big lake. So many things can go wrong with wire.
Paulywood Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 I have a lot of rookies aboard too Dave and have never had a problem. They seem to struggle more with fish that are in close, like off riggers. Always try to horse them in. The only cut off I have ever had was on braid, actually. That will slice through mono just as fast as wire.
