shu9265 Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 Ok Ladies and gents,I am in the market for a new down speed and temp unit.Who has what and what do you suggest ?This unit will be used on both Lake Ontario and Lake Erie. Thanks for the input, Bill
Hotdog71 Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Bill, I run a Moor Sub Troll. It uses a large analog dial for speed with a small lcd for temp reading. It works well, but you have to use a coated cable in order to get the best results. That cable causes a lot of blowback on that rigger. Don't get me wrong, we still catch fish off the probe rigger, but it's not at the depth the rigger says your at. This is the only type I've used, but I have heard that the Depth Raider and the new FishHawk X4 are really nice and all digital display. I hope I've helped a little.
mattmishler Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Fish hawk X4. I love this thing i can go down 150 ft and still have a reading all the time. They dont eat batteries and you dont have to have a coated cable. IMO
Adam Bomb Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 My buddy just got the X4 and loves it. Im probably gonna go that route myself.
anthonyyost Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 If I were to buy another, I would go with the new Cannon because it gives true depth at the ball.
