jimcr Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 (edited) Wow June is just flying By, out on the water 4:50 am set lines spent the next 2.5 hours washing baits. Very slow this morning,7:20 drive by not paying attention to the rods, grabbed it and nothing there, more practice setting riggers. Not long after that port rigger goes off with a screamer, by the time I got control of the fish it had pulled out 225 ft of line , 18lb king it was the high lite for the day. 15 minutes later 7 color on the right side goes off, this was a nice fish also but tangles up with the 5 color and broke the line off, by by blue dolphin spoon. After clearing that mess decided to run only 2 lead lines and try the other riggers. Set rear riggers up with flasher flys 30 back 50 down. Right rear rigger goes off ,fish is just about straight down at the back of the boat and didn't want to budge .Finally get this one to move but not to my advantage, takes out port rear rigger and port side rigger(set down at 80ft). Now I have a nightmare , one fish on three rods, ended up hand lining the last 10ft. Ended up 2 for 4 and a lot of line to deal with. Now I know why you carry extra rods! A few pictures of fish porn to share with you, first two cant remember the date only that they came off the spare camera and were taken in June. Tight Lines Jim Edited June 21, 2010 by jimcr grammer
Nailer Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Welcome to the fun of running mutable lines Jim. 18 pounds, is that your biggest so far?If you want to improve on you pre dawn/ post evening bite, get yourself some original Moonshine spoons, they are fantastic in low light.
