mattmishler Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 Well i came down to it and wanted to get some bird trees to run some extra rods. I didnt want to go out and buy it and spend 300+ on them so i was talking to my dads buddy who happens to have a welding co that will do it for cost. around 60 bucks he said. I can deicied to go with a 40, 45, 50 degree angles or 45,50,55. What do u guys think
Paulywood Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 I'd go with 40, 45 and 50. The bottom is better if it's closer to level with the water.
magnumdeke Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 I went with all 45, works good for me, running inlines they run in a nice row, I did make the so they swivel front to back
mattmishler Posted June 21, 2010 Author Posted June 21, 2010 Is there enough room for all the rods with all 45s?
magnumdeke Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Yes, I run 4 poles on 45 spaced 9" apart, but like i said earlier I can rotate them so I can separate them nicely and adjust how the boards track in the water, and when going to the dock the holders rotate out of the way with the poles in them for docking. I can post a picture tonight if you want
NO MO BEGGEN Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 i made my own set this past spring and all the holders are at 45's. i just staggered them down the pole so the top holder is towards the front of the boat a little the middle one is centered and the bottom one is set a little towards the back of the boat. i think i off set each one about 2 degrees and they work really well.
mayvillemark Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 thats how my burt trees are all at the same angle and rotated around the pole!! And they are sweet!!
magnumdeke Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 Took a little longer than promised, here are my home made holders
magnumdeke Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 1.25: schedule 40 over 1", some of my rods I had to shave the rubber ends down a little to fit nicely in the holder
