flyman013 Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Wasn't really fishing for walleye, but it was surely a welcomed change. My dad and I were casting for smallmouth in the harbor of Port Austin near the stone breakwall at dusk when this nice four pounder bit my jigging spoon. I thought it wasn't fighting like a bass and I thought I was going to do a backflip when I landed him. He's going to taste good for dinner tomorrow!
Adam Bomb Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Nicely done. Some buddies fished out of PA over Memorial weekend and put the beatdown on the lakers. Also boated a few steel as well.
flyman013 Posted June 6, 2010 Author Posted June 6, 2010 Nice job Peter. Did you catch any smallies? We caught a few smallies. We caught about 15 near the breakwall before I hooked into this walleye. After the big rain on Memorial day, the lake muddied up and the smallmouth bite really turned off.

Last Dime Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Nice Job! We did (2) 2-man limits trolling with harnesses off dowriggers 25'-30' down and in-line boards with 1.oz wgts back 80' Sat. and Sun. Chartruese or Orange blades seemed the best. 3-4lb. fish. Great eaters.
