GLF Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Who can tell me why car manufacturers do not put gas caps on the same side for all cars? This would eliminate a lot of conjestion at the pumps.
Dv8oR Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Enquiring minds want to know.....Being in the automotive profession, I suspect it has to do with exhaust, and suspension designs, tank shapes, etc etc etc.....But....Did you know..... there are little arrows by the gauge that should tell you what side its on.I'll bet yours is on the left side, since you have no door lock key on the right side..........
GLF Posted July 22, 2006 Author Posted July 22, 2006 Did you know..... there are little arrows by the gauge that should tell you what side its on. Not true. We rented a 2005 impala and it did not have it. I know...because I explained it to the engineer I went on a trip with, that all new cars had the arrow. He made it a point to point it out that it did not have one. Boy was I wrong
Mike Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 It should be mandated that all gas filler inlets should be put on the right side(passenger) of the vehicle. This would prevent filling an empty tank next to traffic, if you are unfortunate enough to run out of fuel.
