JMacMillan Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 It looks like the wife & I may make the leap & Purchase a used Boat. I'm looking for somebody reasonable & reputable in the St. Joe/BH area to take a look over to make sure it's ready for the water.Any Suggestions?Thank You!
Paulywood Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Do you just want a mechanic to look it over or do you want a survey?
JMacMillan Posted May 14, 2010 Author Posted May 14, 2010 I was thinking a mechanic just to look it over .... Maybe I should have a survey.
Paulywood Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Well, if it's fiberglass, older and/or has been slipped, a survey is a good idea. It really sucks to spend the money on a boat only to find out later it isn't seaworthy. I can't remember the name of the surveyor I used but I know he is a charter captain out of Grand Haven. I'm sure someone here will know his name and be able to recommend a mechanic for you. It's out of my area. But good luck.
