westrate Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 The shallow water fishing (12-20 foot of water) is slowing and the fish and some bait are showing up in 130 to 150 foot of water. We did catch a couple of brown trout along the shore line on Sunday, however the fishing was slow and we turned it west. Fishing south of the Saugatuck piers we marked good fish and some bait in that 130 foot range. We did catch a lake trout and a couple of small salmon on half core with green dolphin and fruit cocktail stingers. The picture looks good in this depth and word from the South Haven fishermen indicates that they are beginning to pick up coho and chinook in the 130 foot depth. Walleye are still being caught in the Kalamazoo river from the I 196 bridge into Kalamazoo Lake. For fishing information or to make a charter reservation, email me at [email protected].
