mayvillemark Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Does anyone know right off hand how much cooper a okuma 45dx will hold (30 lb)and also the same question for a diawa 47lc? thnks
Hotdog71 Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 You have to watch your backing but I can get 300 feet of 30# copper on my Okuma. I just put 200 yds of power pro and 300 feet of 45# copper and it just fit. I can't help with the Diawa. There is a line fill calculator one of the guys put on this site. A search might find it. I hope this helps.

Line Dancin Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Just question, why not go to 45 lb and get deeper faster with less line out? then add a torpedo dive or a sting ray to get you a little deeper if you need to get deeper. if you do that you can get 300 yds 50 lb pp and 150 ft of 45 lb copper getting you to about 40 45 feet down (depending on the speed you troll.here is a chart from diver dennis:http://www.glangler.com/dc/user_files/6101.jpg300 ft of 30 lb gets you to 55.6 ft150 feet of 45 gets you to 49.5and your not killing yourself toreel it in.personally i dont think five feet is worth the extra work. you could also add another 30 feet on 45 copper and strip about 30 yds pp and get you to the same depth if you are concerned with matching that profile.
mayvillemark Posted May 2, 2010 Author Posted May 2, 2010 I was thinking backwards good call I yeah I guess I would go with 45 copper!
