JWheeler Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 The usual gang made our annual pilgrimage to the tittabawasee for the walleye opener. After a good fire and some barley pops Friday night, all eyes on the walleye for Saturday. Woke up bout 5AM was fishing shortly after that. Trolled HJ 12 glass clown and glass perch up and down a nice little stretch of river. Ended the day 8/9. 6 walleye (only 4 keepers), a nice small mouth and one of the largest rock bass I'd ever seen. As a whole we came up way short of the amount of fish compared to last years opener.
Priority1 Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Jason, Thanks for the Titt report. That storm front probably had something to do with it. GJ in tough conditions.
Indybleck Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Good job Jason on a iffy weekend weather wise.Tom
Paulywood Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Between the storms and the warmer than usual spring it sounds like you did pretty good to me. Good job!
Nailer Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Still sounds like a good time. Friends, fishing, and barley pop always = a good time:drinks:
Adam Bomb Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Nice job Jason. Glad you had fun on the river carrying on a tradition. Dont get any better than that.
steeliebob Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 Sounds like a good time. You used to be able to walk on boats from Mildand to Bay City on the opener. Sounds like you had room to fish. Good job on the walleye.
JWheeler Posted May 4, 2010 Author Posted May 4, 2010 Sounds like a good time. You used to be able to walk on boats from Mildand to Bay City on the opener. Sounds like you had room to fish. Good job on the walleye. Early on no problems. But once it was light out if was like flies on stink with boats everywhere. There were 3 dudes that thought it was a good idea to anchor right in the hole. Bad idea guys, everyone else was drifting through there, I was trolling up and down stream and these guys would give anyone within a stones throw away an ear ful. I said sorry, but if I were you on the opener I wouldn't be anchored there, but thats just me, as I proceeded to get a couple right in front of them, even sweeter!
