SUPERTRAMP Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Had a report of fish in St Joe on Friday. Left the slip in South Haven @ 7AM, Ran to about Jean Klok park north of the St Joe Piers. Strong offshore wind was really blowing. Set lines in 25 FOW and trolled toward the pier heads. Worked out to 48' and first hit came 28' down on the rigger double Orange crush Fuzzy; Bear King about 5#. Next hit was on a 1 color 00 Red dodger with a silver green crinkle coho candy siggs rig fly on a board, huge Laker that was released. Next trolled out to 68 FOW picked up a dandy Steelhead on the same 1 color dodger combo. Turned to come back in and the whole back of the boat seemed to go. Boated 2 Coho and a small shaker king and the last fish we never saw. ended up boating ;6 of 7 pulled lines @ 1 PM and got back to S Haven around 1:50. Long boat ride for the fish but the 2 newbies we had along had a blast. I still haven't figured out posting pics but they are in the gallery Salmon trout section.Mike (Supertramp) ChamberlinBoat name MC2
Nailer Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Sounds like a good day to me Mike. Fishing is more about fun than food anyhow.
Katrina Seath Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 Nice job, sounds like an exciting trip. I wish I could have been out there.
