Line Dancin Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I have a hds5 unit and am getting a uniden oceanus radio. the uniden book clearly shows which wires are for the gps connection but the lowrance doesn't. which two wires do i use on the hds 5 to connect to the two on the radio.
Midway97 Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Page 26 shows the connection diagram for the data wire on the HDS 5 unit. Well at least the one I downloaded from lowrance.com does.
Line Dancin Posted April 23, 2010 Author Posted April 23, 2010 ya i have that but it just isnt real clear as to which is the gps data out.
cduced Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Don't know the color scheme but when I hooked my Lowrance LMS520c and my Standard Horizon VHS together I had to call SH for some help. One tip was to put a volt meter across the wires (ground vs nema). If there is data being sent, you'll see the voltage varying from zero to +5v. If I remember right, the ground on the Lowrance harness was a bare wire. Also, I needed to go into the GPS setup to configure it to send the data. All in all, it wasn't too hard to figure out. -- Bud
Daybreak Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 Your output wire for a GPS signal from a Lowrance is the Yellow wire and the bare(sheild) wire is ground.
Line Dancin Posted April 25, 2010 Author Posted April 25, 2010 thanks everyone i have it hooked up and the two units are sharing information.
