Symon Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Hello All. I purchased a used Okuma Blue Diamond Roller Rod (BD-TR-862MH-1) for wire. I am looking for instruction on feeding the wire through the dual rollers (2 sets). There is one set @ the rear end of the rod closest to the reel and another set @ the tip. Is the wire fed over the topmost roller then under the lower roller (like a pulley)? This seems to make sense but I am 'perplexed'.I've searched Okuma's website and emailed them without success. Any assistance, advice or instruction is greatly appreciated.Kind Regards,Symon
Symon Posted April 20, 2010 Author Posted April 20, 2010 Thank you Anthony. I need to learn 'simple'.That said, then what is the purpose of the dual rollers?
anthonyyost Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 I guess that with a roller on top and bottom of the wire, you have contact with a roller no matter what direction you have the rod bent.

Priority1 Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Symon, A warm welcome to the GLF site. There is a ton of useful information shared here. If you need any help just holler.
Eyefull Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 The first double roller guide is called a stripper. Its purpose is to guide the line or wire down from a normally very large frame reel. Without it the line or wire may not even touch the first roller, even under load, allowing the line to wander and even worse, touch the blank. That would be fatal with wire. Not sure why Okuma uses a second one closer to the tip, no need there. So like said above, the line goes under the high roller, then over the lower roller in a double roller or stripper guide.
