News Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Illinois researchers recently tossed out a harrowing number -- $4.7 billion -- to demonstrate the economic impact if the Chicago area locks were closed to keep Asian carp out of the Great Lakes. Of course, what they didn't say was that their number is computed over 20 years, and that roughly half of it would be spent on flood prevention systems.More...
