Paulywood Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Man was it bumpy out there today. It really wasn't much fun. We set up outside the pierheads and headed south. Water was really dirty inside so we worked out to 40'. Tried to turn back north but it was pretty rough. Worked from 15'-45' back north. Took one rip on a Reefrunner on a 3 color. Finally gave up and headed in about 10 am. Solid 3-5's with a few 6's thrown in for fun. Boat ran good and nobody chummed so it wasn't a total loss. Looking forward to a more productive second trip.
A-Fishy-Anado Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 NickSounds like our story from yesterday in a 16' boat. Not fun in the least bit. Better luck next time.
Just Hook'n Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Maybe someone should have chummed. Nice work anyway Nick. Good shakedown out of the way.
Katrina Seath Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Yesterday was very rough. We were in South Haven also, and my stomach couldn't handle the big waves. Yuck!Better luck next time.
WoLFMaN Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 "chummed" I will be adding that to my boat vocabulary.
Priority1 Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Nick, At least you had a good shakedown cruise. How's the truck running?
Sea-Mac Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Im sure they havent seen the last of Paulywood. Thanks for the report Nick.
Paulywood Posted April 19, 2010 Author Posted April 19, 2010 Nick, At least you had a good shakedown cruise. How's the truck running? Truck ran great Frank. Good shakedown for everything but the cooler:D
GLF Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Its a good thing no one chummed. I took someone fishing a couple of years ago, and they chummed down both sides of my boat.
Priority1 Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Its a good thing no one chummed. I took someone fishing a couple of years ago, and they chummed down both sides of my boat. Just lean them a lil farther over. It's always a plus to have a chummer. Man that turns the Kings on. I had one onboard 2 years ago. We cut the trip short, and took him ashore. I don't like staying out when someone is sick. Some times that can be catchy. Ya know the three Ss. Sound, Sight and Smell.
