lundsss Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 Got out real early to try and beat the heat. Got a good tip from a close friend that said the bite was real shallow 45-55 over 60. Temp was there and so were about 20 or 30 boats. Did a brown before completeing my set-up and ended the day with this hot steelhead that checked in just over 14lbs.
GLF Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 Thats a nice steelhead! The line on your reel looks red. What brand are you using?
lundsss Posted July 17, 2006 Author Posted July 17, 2006 GLF,That would none other than good old 20# ande in pink. I love the stuff and don't really think theres a better line out there. As far as the cromer, my wife pointed at the rod when it released , I turned around and it was 2' out of the water. Great fight till the 73 deg. water took hold of it and it went limp. Alot of work to get her swimming again but worth the time for such a beautiful fishTight Lines,Steve:cool:
