Line Dancin Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 I see some manufactures make (eg seagur) flourocarbon line 200 yds spools and than they also make flourocarbon leader 25 yards. the line is like 20 bucks to 24 bucks depending on which flourocarbon a spool and the leader is like 13 bucks. what is the real difference between leader and line material? is it signifacant enough to have to use leader material or just a good lin like the abrazX. When i started using flourocarbon i used Gamma as that was the market practice in the places i shopped but with gamm allbut gone now i am considering what to use next.
Legacy Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 No need to run leader material plus it can get pretty expensive after awhile. Ive been getting 200yard wrist spools from Triple Fish Lines and have been very happy. http://www.triplefishlines.com/
1mainiac Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 The leader material is tougher I only use it for making Flies and short leaders like my sliders and between the diver and flasher. I use P Line Flouroclear for long leaders.
Daybreak Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 I agree with the above! The leader materiel is a bit tougher so I use it for Flys and Spin n Glows, but the rest of my leaders are plain 15lb. Seaguar Floro Line. Much more affordable!
